Prior to surgery: have all prescriptions filled, and arrange for someone to drive you home after the procedure.

The night before surgery: take the first dose of antibiotics.

The morning of surgery: eat your normal breakfast, take second dose of antibiotics.

Wear a button-up shirt (this will be easier to remove and replace than a pull-over), and comfortable clothes. You might want to bring a cap or hat.
You may bring some CD’s of your favorite music if you like.

Bring the final payment with you; it will be collected prior to the procedure.

After your procedure, you will need to have someone drive you home. (A taxi is okay.) This is necessary because we will give you some mild sedative medications which could impair your ability to drive safely.

You will want to take it easy for a few days following the procedure. Normal activities are okay as tolerated, but heavy lifting, vigorous aerobic activities are out for one week.
In case of emergency contact Dr. Baucom/Dr. Pharis at (404) 943-1996.

PATIENT INFORMATION
CRYOSURGERY

During the healing process you will notice a number of changes. ALL wounds develop a small surrounding halo of redness which means healing is occurring. Severe itching with extensive redness usually indicates a sensitivity to the ointment used to dress the wound or most times a reaction to the bandage tape. You should call our office if this develops.
